European manufacturing sites for Huggies® nappies have improved their energy efficiency by 16% between 2005 and 2008.
The facts as we know them today...
Energy use has been rising over the past 30 years, mainly because changes in lifestyle mean that people are using more energy. The trend
is expected to continue.
Leading environmental bodies such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) believe that energy use and its contribution
to climate change is among society's greatest environmental risks.
Our point of view...
As a global company, Kimberly-Clark (the maker of Huggies®) recognises that we must contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
We can do this by increasing our energy efficiency and using cost-effective renewable and alternative energy sources.
We believe that our continued product and process development makes it possible to continuously improve our energy usage.

Kimberly-Clark (the makers of Huggies®) has been focusing on its efficient use of energy since the early 1990's. We have an ongoing
energy efficiency program where our goal is to reduce our energy need AND carbon dioxide emissions associated with every tonne of product
produced and distributed worldwide.
