Hi, i had my little girl 6 weeks ago through natural delivery but did have a 3rd degree tear. I thought it would all be healed by now and all pain would have gone but i am still getting sharp shooting pains. These are really painful and i am needing to take quite strong painkillers, anyone else experienced this? If so how long did it take for the pains to go completely?

hi, i had my first son naturally with a 3rd degree tear. it healed by 8 weeks. Have u had ur 6 week post natal check, if no, get that done and speak to midwife/nurse about it. A friend of mine also had a 3rd degree tear and hers did not heal. It took up to a year, then she had some kind of operation and now its healed completely. Its best to get it checked out by nurse/midwife or some professional x

hey i also had 3rd degree tear my daughter is 10 weeks now and the pain is completly gone jus takes a little bit of time :) x

Likewise had third degree tear following tramatic forceps delivery - baby will be 14 weeks tomorrow and although mainly healed still get the odd pain or uncomfortable sensation from time to time. Speak to your gp if worried - I saw my consultant and physio several times so check with your aftercare team. Hope this helps! I guess everyones different and it simply takes time!

I had natural delivery on my 4th baby 9 weeks ago and suffered a 4th degree tear as he was 9lb 12oz (they had no idea he was going to be so big) so was rushed into theatre straight afterwards and had to have a spinal block and be sorted out. Luckily I have experienced no pain since it being done and it has healed up lovely. I was signed off on my 6 week check at hosp as all was well.

On my 1st tho I had a tear and had stitches and was in absolute agony.. found out the stiches had came apart so was back in a week after being restitched but all healed well after that. Best to get it checked out if you are still in pain just in case something isnt right xx
