Hi there, I also have a 1 year old and I'm 17 weeks pregnant with my second. I started wanting another baby as soon as my son was about 3 months old. Like your partner my husband did not want another baby ( he has 2 sons from a previous marriage 19 and 14 years) . This pregnancy was not planned but we never took any contraception after our son was born it was only a matter of time I suppose before I got pregnant again. When the pregnancy test came back positive he was not pleased, but when I threatened to miscarry his attitude changed and was devastated when he thought we lost the baby. It was the first time we had properly talked in a long time. He's now over the moon that we're having another baby but it took nearly losing our baby to make him realise how much he wanted another child. All I can say is talk to your partner about these feelings of wanting another child and explain why and get him to open up to you about why he doesn't want another baby.
