twins at different stages

Hi all,

This is my first post, so forgive me if I babble on!  My twin son and Daughter are now almost 12 weeks old and (natural birth at 38 weeks) are happy babies who seem to be happy and healthy.  I'm not new to parenting, having a 13 year old and a 6 year old (maybe I'm just a little out of practice!)

I'm starting to get a bit concerned about my son though as he seems very wobbly compared to his sister - now I know you are all going to say that I shouldn't compare them, but I can't help it!! lol  My daughter is very steady in her movements, and can sit up very well for some time (aided) holding her head up and looking around in a very steady manner, but my son's movements are extrememly jerky - he can sit but his neck seems much more floppy than hers, and he moves and squirms constantly with (again) very jerky movements.  He is quite a happy little man who gives us lots of smiles and he responds well when you talk to him (babbling a little and so on).  Should I be concerned about his mobility?

hey hun, i guess us mummies have to remember all babies are individuals and will progress at there own rate even if they are twins, it might be that ones a girl and ones a boy...im always hearing how girls are quicker to progress than boys?????? just give him a lil time hes still very young, only 12wks, xx

Hiya, I have no experience with twins but have 2 boys and am having a girl now. Why don't you try and make little notes or write things on the calendar of when your daughter does things and when you son does them. You may notice a pattern of, she does it then he does it 3 weeks later. This will put your mind at rest. I have always heard that girls do things quicker than boys so maybe it is just that. don't feel bad for comparing them, you are just being a caring mother who wants the best for her children. Kerry 2 boys and 22 week pink bump. x
