cups/beakers very confused!

 Hi

I would appreciate anyone's advice on cups.  My daughter is 15 months old and still has 2 bottles of milk one in the morning and 1 at night, i have tried to get her to drink her milk out of a cup but she refuses and has a tantrum, as she tends to wake very early and i work full time im afraid i find it easier to give in.  The health visitor has said this is fine so long as she can also drink out of a sippy cup as this develops the muscles, she drinks water all day out of her cup no problem im hoping in time ill be able to stop the bottle, but im concerned that i should now be moving her on from the sippy cup (the normal 2 handled type) to some kind of sports beaker or straw beaker? ive had a look online and in the shops and there are so many different types its really confusing.  Are there any set rules of what type of cup they should be moving onto at each stage and if so has anyone got any recommendations? I looked at the nuby cups but couldn't tell which one to move onto after the sippy cup. Thanks for your help.

Hiya, I had the same problem with mine and glad to say she grew out of it. Just wouldn't take milk from a beaker at all although I started to warm it up and she did then....we got a thing from mothercare its good it has a straw that pops out she might like that? A sippy cup is more advanced than the beaker so really she's just skipped it, you could take that out with you and a bottle of water and just fill when required? Beaker wise I just got Asda's own which is fab. Good luck! Jac, Holly 2 and 26 week bump x

I got really confused to with all the different cups on the market. My DD has her milk out of a sippy cup both morning and night but she drinks her water during the day from a spouted cup. Both of these are by Tommee Tippee. The spouted cup is called the big chil insulated cup, I think and it has rabbits in different costumes around it. It has a flip top spout so that it is non spill and fits neatly into her changing when we are out and about.I'm in no hurry to change her from her sipy cup for her milk as they used these at the nursery she goes to until the children are 21/2. Each child will prefer a different cup its just a case of finding the one your little one likes.
