General forum information

What is the Huggies® Forum?

The Huggies® Forum is an online discussion forum. Huggies® Club members can use the forums to post and read messages about topics that interest them concerning pregnancy, babies and parenting.

How do the forums work?

The Huggies® Forum is made up of a number of forum groups. Each forum group has a name, for example 'Bump on Board' and contains several forums such as 'Health and Wellbeing'. The forum groups and forums are set-up by the Huggies® Forum team.

Within the forums, you can create topics for discussion. Other members can read through topics and 'post' their own replies. You can search forums by simply typing your search terms into the search box that appears above each forum post, and click the search button.

What is a 'topic'?

A topic is a subject for discussion within a forum, for example 'Teething trouble'. There can be many topics in a forum and, as a member, you can read and post replies within each.

Or, if you want to start a new discussion, you can create a new topic. It's important that the subject of a topic is clear and descriptive as this will help members understand what a particular topic is about.

What is a 'post'?

A post is a message which has been submitted to a topic. If you post to the forum it is a public forum and can be read by other members and the general public. The first post of a given topic establishes the subject by which all subsequent replies will be known, which is why the subject is so important. Make it as descriptive and as specific as possible without being too long.

Reading posts and topics in the public forum

Click on a forum to display all of the topics within that forum. You can then click on a topic to read through the posts which have been submitted by other members.

How to start posting

To post a new message, first you have to be logged in. You'll need to be a Huggies® Club member, so sign up if you haven't done so already. Members have access to the full forum and many other exclusive benefits as well.

You can post a new message by clicking on the 'New Post' button which appears at the top of every page. You can then proceed to type your new message and submit it to the forums.

Once posted, posts go live immediately and are permanent. Please don't submit any posts to the forum that you don't want to remain permanently on the site.

Replying to a post

To reply to an existing topic, simply select the topic that you wish to reply to and click on the reply button. You will then see a box where you can type in your message.

Keeping track of posts and replies

When you start a new topic, you have the option of receiving email notifications when replies are made to your topic. This preference can be set by ticking or un-ticking the box found in your 'My Profile' page. The 'My Posts' option in this area also lists all of the posts that you have made to date.

Spellchecking

There is no spellchecker on the Forum. However you can activate you browser's spell check functions or cut and paste your post into a word document to check your spelling, and then re-paste it back to the forum.

Cancelling membership

Huggies® Club members have the option of cancelling their own membership at any time. This can be done by going into 'My Profile' and clicking the Unsubscribe button.

When this option is selected, your email address and associated details will be removed from our customer database. Your username will be changed to A Former Member, making your posts anonymous; however the content of your posts will remain on the system.

Once cancelled your membership cannot be reinstated, however you do have the option of joining Huggies Club® as a new member at anytime in the future.

Why use the Report function?

Huggies® Club is your community, so take action and report inappropriate content. If ever you feel that the forum rules have been breached, or if you're concerned about the content of a post or the behaviour of a member, use the Report function. We appreciate the assistance of our members in bringing anything of concern - no matter how small - to our attention.

Using the Report function

Select the Report button that appears at the bottom of every post and follow the prompts. Details of the post will be sent to the moderators. You can also include a comment if you want to.

Is the Report function confidential?

Only the moderators are alerted to your username and email address when you use the Report function - not other members.

Moderation Process

Why is the Huggies® Forum moderated?

The Huggies® Forum is moderated to keep it a safe and friendly community for our members to share their parenting experiences and chat. Word screening software scans all messages before they go live for inappropriate words, and the site Moderators may remove the information on the forum in line with the terms and conditions of the site. They can also help out with any forum enquiries you may have.

What happens if a member breaches the forum rules?

If a post contravenes the rules, it may be edited or removed and a reminder of the forum rules will be posted in the public area. The moderators also have the ability to suspend accounts immediately.

Suspended membership

When memberships are suspended it is permanent. The appropriate channels will however be available for the matter to be discussed with the forum team.
