Feeding Help!!!

hey ladies. Can anyone out there help me. My daughter is just over 7 months old and has been a rotten feeder from the start.  It can take anything up to an hour or more to get her to take a bottle.  My husband has even more trouble trying to feed her.  so leaving her with anyone including my husband is very hard.  She will do anything but feed suck her fingers, play with toys roll round the floor scream fight and generally create a fuss.  She has gastro reflux disorder as well so makes things harder still.  She's at the stage where she should be weaned and have taken advice from health care professionals who say just keep trying.  Not an option as she gets so distressed to the point that if I put her in high chair or car seat she just goes totally ballistic.  Her weight is only just over the 2nd centile and at just 14lbs she's tiny.  Can anyone out there please help I'm almost at my wits end.  hayley and Jennifer-May.

Dont know if this will help but you could try putting a sheet down on the floor, sit her on it and put some finger foods for her age around her. My daughter is 8 months now and likes to feed herself will clamp her mouth shut if I try feeding her so I have given her strips of cheese, cooked pasta, apple slices, banana cut into strips, rice cakes (organix do some raspberry or pumpkin ones). I found that she plays finds the food and shoves it in her mouth, and theres no battle. Plus after a week of this she started going in the highchair to eat.  If it works, there will be mess but anything is worth a try and you might get lucky and find something she likes which may encourage her to try other stuff.

Hey vickeys, You are a genius I tried this with my daughter and wow what a change she ate everything i put in front of her messily but the mess is worth it shes actually eating yippeee! Even to the point now that she has a slippy cup to drink from. What a transformation in just 24 hours. It seems that my daughter is fearcely independant all ready and has a will of Iron. Thank-you so much Hayley and Jennifer-May.
