Hiya, I'm coming up 33 weeks now with my second. Did you get the £190 grant you can claim from 25 weeks? Its a one off payment your midwife should give you a form. I applied for the sure start one at 29 weeks this and to my delight we got it (didn't first time) so its really helped. Depends on your income but as we are getting child tax credits now for our first born we were entitled.
I have been buying bit by bit like you - stock up on nappies though, they go through about 10 a day in the first few weeks!! I have been buying offers at Tesco etc 2 packs of pampers new baby for £6. I like the other lady haven't bought any newborn clothes or mini nappies etc, they grow so fast I think its a waste. I bought all 0-3 months for my first and was glad as she was 9lb 6oz!! Get the 1 one get 1 free offers in Boots etc on bath stuff, shampoo etc, wipes - johnstons wipes are £1 a packet just now in Boots. Try and breast feed if you can, I managed 3 weeks and was just so sore and tired I gave it up but I gave her Aptimal formula and its nearly £9 a jar and you go through 1 a week so this was the most expensive thing!! She didn't like SMA so might try Cow & Gate this time as its a little bit cheaper.
You will no doubt get presents like clothes etc from family and friends too so don't buy too many first size clothes yourself, I ended up with far too much. Sales are on just now I've been buying 9-12 month stuff for next summer half price lol. Enjoy rest of your pregnancy, good luck! Jac, Holly 2 and 32+6 bump x
