when do you first hear your baby's heartbeat??

Hi all, i have my next midwife appointment next monday 19th and i will be over 16 weeks.. should i ask if i can hear the heartbeat or is that too soon?? xxBabybelxx

Hi babybel, I heard mine really early this time about 9 weeks or so as weren't sure on my dates -  I had a scan 2 weeks later that showed me at 11+4.  Think it is usually 16 weeks anyway but definately ask if she doesn't look like she will be doing it. Its lovely to hear. Jac, Holly 2 and 32 week bump x

hey, i bought a fetal doppler off line and heard my babys heartbeat at 9.3 days! the best £40 ive ever spent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard my baby's heartbeat at 16 weeks at my midwife appointment so I guess that's when they first check. X
