Me and my OH had our 20 week scan a while ago and decided not to find out the sex. When we showed our scan pictures to his next door neighbour she said she could tell straight away what the sex was and that she wouldn't tell us because we didn't want to know. We then found out inadvertantly from my OH's sister that she thought the baby was a boy and she could tell that from the pictures we had.

Is it possible to see the sex of the baby from the pictures (the pictures we have are side-on and face-up, there are no clear shots of babies bum area lol) or is she just bluffing?

I think you would need a picture of the area to tell the sex.

When we found out the sex of our daughter I was looking at the screen when they told us it was a girl and I could tell, All I could see was legs and a bum!!! lol

If you can't see the area on the photo then I think they are just guessing. with our previous scan people said oh its a boy etc - we had a girl. I hate all this as well oh your carrying low or high etc your having this, its all old wives tales. I saw someone having a scan and could tell it was a boy as the bit was hanging down lol when we had our scan the sonographer showed us the 3 lines which is a girl. hi. maybe their guessing but why, if they know you don't want to know, would they tell you what it is? i'd have got annoyed with them to be honest. i know you want to show your photo off but if you show any more tell them to keep their thoughts on the sex to themselves.

hi, it depends on how good the photo is and weather it displaying there bits. on my 2nd pregnancy scan photo you could see clearly it was a boy, i think with girls it much harder to tell due to finding the 3 clear lines but at the end of the day if you dont want to know there still no harm in guessing and some people can get it wrong, as with my friend everyone kept telling her she was having a girl but i did not want to comment until nearer the time and i must admit she did look all low and round but she had a boy .
