Hi, I am just coming up for 24 weeks into my second pregnancy and have had a pain in my inner thighs for around 5-6 weeks now and it has now progressed to my groin area.  Its really painful to walk and feels like I have been horse riding all day!!  I have a good sized bump now and wondering if it is the weight or worse, SPD??  Is anyone else experiencing this??

Hi, ive got the same aches and pains its sooooooo bad sometimes i cant move let alone walk etc. My midwife said it was spd and referred me to physio, she also said it would get worse with weight as i get bigger iv only got 4wks left and have gotta b honest it has (i sleep with pillows in between my legs to raise them), my appoinment has come and it isnt worth going as im due 2wk after, there solidly booked so get referred ASAP so you get treatment sooner rather than later and hopefully theyl manage the pain b4 ur baby arrives. My midwife said theyl teach you exsercises and maybe give you a belt 2 support your bump as it grows to ease the pain (im sure you can get1 ur self from mothercare). I hope this helps and i hope you get it sorted sooner rather than later and dont make my mistake and grin an bare it till it 2late. Goodluck Lisa + 36wk bump xx

Thanks Lisa, I have my 25 week app next week with the midwife so will discuss it with her then.  On a good note, my hubby is really looking after me and cooking tea etc when I get in from work so result there!! Lol! Have seen the belts so might get one and give it a go.  Hope all goes well, good luck, Lou x

hi i had SPD with my 1st baby  i was signed off work for 6 months it was so painful. it also carryied on after my son was born and it wasnt getting any easier, he was coming up 2 and i was still in pain so i got refured to a consultant who told me i had to have a plate fitted to my pelvis or deal with the pain as id tried everything else, which i did in november and now im doing really well, im 6 weeks pregnant so hoping this pregnancy i will be able to enjoy. If u could ask ur docs about seeing a physo it did really help while i waited for the operation. my friend didnt have it with her 1st but did with her second so everyones different. good luck to all of u x

Hi, iv been dignosed with SPD as well and have been refered to see a physio but  the soonest appointment is 2days before my due date (9th April) my midwife told me to keep this appoinment incase i go over due but also in case the pain doesnt ease after the birth so Lisa may be its an idea to keep the appointment incase you do go over due or even just for the possibility of the after care if needed. im sorry to say Lou that the pain does get worse and maybe getting a support belt earlier on will be benificial but definately bring it up with ur midwife. Good Luck! xxx
