well i posted on here a few weeks ago saying i thought i was pregnant but my period  wasnt due for another 5 days. well i am now 5 days late and with no signs of my period even starting? ive done 3 tests all of which were negative and clear blue tests...i have had neg home tests with my first then discoverd i was pregnant a few weeks later.im so confused deep down i think i am pregnant and this would be my 5th so i aint new to this,but the tests are saying im not,has any1 else had this trouble and how long should i wait again b4 doing another test or putting one in at the doctors?   please any advice would be grateful im desperate to know now x x

pregnancy tests detect a hormone called  human chorionic gonadotropin. which is released during pregnancy when the egg has implanted. diffferent pregnancy tests can detect diffrent levels of the hormone. i would suggest u read the packet and see what percentage of the hormone the test will detect which will determine if u get a +ve or -ve result. the hormone percentage increases  each day you are pregnant so its best to maybe test poss 1 week or more after a missed period or you could go to your doctors for them to do a blood test so you get an accurate result. good luck from charlotte and 36 week bump.  

well i rang the doctors today and they have said that this happens a lot when doing home preg tests and to wait untill at least 2 weeks after the day my period was due as this is now the earliest the hospital will test samples.They said the main reason being that if u have just ovulated the week b4 your period then the egg may not have implanted or implanted fully which means u get a neg result or if u have low hormone levels.  i suppose ill just have to pay the waiting game but i know my period isnt going to start as i have none of my usual symtoms apart from a mild ache in my tummy which has been there since saturday. all it said on the box was 4 days b4 your period it was 53% accurate then at 3 days 62% 2 days 83% then 99 or 97%.untill my period comes im not conviced it is neg thanks for your help x

hi michelle, i had the same thing happen to me i am now 25 weeks pregnant with my third child but i knew even before my period woz late that i was pregnant i cjust had the same feelings that i had with my other two. i did a test wen i woz 3 days late which woz negative, then other 3 days later which woz also nnegative. so thought i had maybe got it wrong and my period would just start late. when it didnt i did another test and by then i woz actually 16 days late and it woz positive, i cudnt understand why this happened, give it another week and do another one, if it is still negative just ask at your doctors if you can get them to send one of for you.

hello again,well ive just found out i am infact pregnant,my period did start but was light and only lasted a few days havnt felt right all month and my period was due sunday did a test wed and it was a instant positive,im now over the initial shock of it all and im very exited now, i just knew all month i was pregnant my intuition was right,just a little nervous of having 5 children all close and young but i know we wil be fine xthanks for your help girls michelle and the brood x
