i'm new to this website but throught it was worth a try to see if any other mums or mums to be are in the same situation as me.

i have a hearing imparement which requires me to wear 2 hearing aids during the day, but carnt wear them when am alseep.  im worried i wont be able to hear my baby cry at night.  i live with my partner, and he says he'll do anything he can to help, but i feel bad about him doing the night feeds.

is there any thing i can do or any really good baby monitiors i can buy with a high volume control?

any help or advice welcome :)

Hi, I dont have this problem but thought I'd give my thoughts...

Have you thought about trying them out in the shop to see if there are any that you can hear without your aids in?  Go to one of the bigger stores where they are likely to have a large range.  If it was me I'd take some batteries with you aswell because they might not have any in the store.

Or see if there are any that vibrate?

I have the tommee tippee one that has the sensor pad to monitor movement, it has a boost button on it for increased volume and also flashes a green light every time the baby moves or makes a sound and the flash turns red and an alarm goes off if it sense no movement for 20 seconds.

Could your partner just wake you when its your turn to get up with the baby, coz he'll wake up anyway whether you do or dont so he'll just need to nudge you.

Sorry if I seem a bit naive, I hope you find one to suit.

I don't have this problem but i'm sure you will be fine. You can buy monitors that vibrate there are several about. Other people must have this problem and it's probably worth discussing with your midwife/hospital as there must be something that they can help you with.

Good luck, hope you find something soon.
