All I can say is, honestly, don't worry! At the end of it you will have your beautiful baby to hold in your arms - what more could you want?!

Just focus on each contraction and know that none last longer than 90 seconds and each one brings you closer to holding your baby. You will be fine, I promise!

Have you thought about exactly what it is that makes you so terrified? The exact thing not just the whole experience? If you try and break it down then maybe you can find something that will get you over that particular aspect. Do you have a partner to talk it through with, that might also help.

Good luck and best wishes for 6 (ish!) days time!

dont be scared, If I said it doesnt hurt Id be lying!!!

It starts off like cramp, you get that dull ache inside, it gets stronger and comes in waves.sitting in a bath of warm water helps, my midwive told me this, she also said to eat something coz it will be a while before you get anything else, and take some paracetomol.

I found that sitting in the bath stopped the aching.when the pain gets too much got to the hospital, try to hold off for as long as you can because if your not 3-4cm dialated they will send you home.

I had gas and air and diamorphine and was in labour for 14hrs.But once you see your baby it really is worth it.I dont really remember the pain now and am trying for my second.

good luck, hope I havent scared you, you will be fine xxx

Hi, try not to worry too much. i was petrified too but once your labour starts those fears go! you will just be concentrating on your contractions and breathing. I was in labour for 21 hours and only had gas and air. It does hurt but once the baby is out the pain stops and you can relax. a bath does help with contraction pains!

dont worry, it will be over before you know it!!

good luck!
