Hi Kirsty, You are not alone this happened to me at about the same time.  I'm now 19 weeks pregnant with 1 very active bump.  1stly they want to test your HCG levels friday to make sure that they are increasing as they should, 2ndly they should also have offered you and early scan at the pregnancy assesment unit.  If you're not in pain it's a good thing but if you start to have pain get to A and E as soon as you can, especially if the bleeding gets worse take care rest avoid stress and just take it easy.  I would leave your ex at the moment you've got more important stuff to deal with. Let him know what happens after friday and deal with it then. My thoughts are with you take care regards Hayley Alexander 14months and 19 week bump.

Hi Kirsty. Hayley is right - they should offer you an early scan. This will confirm one way or anoyher what is happening. This has happened to me during 2 of my pregnancies - the first time unfortunately was a miscarriage but the second time I went on to have a healthy baby girl - The bleeding was heavy enough for me to be convinced I had had 2 periods when in fact i was pregnant all along. Bleeding in early pregnancy is quite common but obviously very scary. If A & E won't organise a scan go through your doctor or midwife, if you have one yet. They should get you in to the early pregnancy unit very quickly. Good luck. Susan.
