my daughters full name is Molly Joyce Poppy, i love old fashioned names!!!  We like Maggie, Annie and Martha if our next one is a girl.  i think violet-rose is lovely!! it sounds great and much better than calling her Mercedes or something!

Its a nice name!! I personally don't think It matters what anyone else thinks though aslong as you (or you both) like it!

Definitely not OF! In fact what I call 'proper' names seem to be making a come back, which is a nice relief. I have a hard time imagining Granny Courtney or Grandad Shane (apologies if these are your names or those of your children). On the Violet debate my daughter's middle name is Holly, and at her playgroup there is a Rose, Poppy, Cherry and Ivy so flowers are definitely in.

BTW my daughter is a Dulcie, which I think is a very old fashioned name and I love it. I know there will be no other little girls in her class with the name and I have no difficulty imagining her at different stages in her life with the name.
