Hi,  I cant really help you as I am looking for work, starting temping on Mondaybut would love to know what the replies to you are.  I am due 15 April so hoping to be able to hide it for a bit longer.  What  job are you doing? Have you a probation period?  What notice do they have to give you?  Have you had a contract of employment?  Maybe the CAB is the way to go?  Or some solicitors do a free half an hour advice clinic?  Sorry I cant be more help xx  Let me know what happens!!

Hi there, I started a job when I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant, found out 2 days after my start date at the new job. Wanted to keep it to myself for a little longer, til I had passed the 12 week stage, unfortunately I was very ill in early pregnancy and some people started to suspect that I was pregnant, so was called into a meeting with the manager and was asked basically what was going on, I was having trouble keeping anything but fresh fruit down, so was feeling a little weak at times and they had me on late shifts which I was struggling with, and told her that at the meeting. this was conducted as a four week review so was all noted on official paper work then after that was completed she cornered me and asked me outright if I was pregnant, of course I'd just spouted loads of crap about doctors not knowing what was wrong with me but had my scan the following thursday and told her that the doctors suspected that I was pregnant and that they wanted me to go for a scan to verify. Since then I told her I was definately pregnant and I had a fainting fit at work, when I was doing another late shift, and needed to be sent home 1 hour into my shift and she got rather arsy with me due to this I was due in the next day for a meeting however after I fainted my husband wanted me checked out at the emergency centre and the doctor advised I stay off work for a few days, my manager was not happy because the doctor had not issued me with a sick note, so went back the following monday to speek to my GP and he said just to self certificate for 7 days, I rang later that day to let my manager know what was going on and she snapped at me saying why I hadn't let her know sooner that I was getting signed off, and that I had disrupted the working week and that I was to get my sick note in ASAP so that she could file the correct paper work. Since then I have had numerous run inns with my manager and because I have been ill she has now prolonged my 12 week probationary period by another 4 weeks and told me that she is giving me as much chance as possible in her eyes and she has no idea why she keeps giving me so many chance's!!! I feel I have been mistreated due to the fact that I am expecting, and I am going to get some advice from citizens advice bureau because Im not happy, my midwife has even said that it sounds like Im being mistreated due to the fact that I am expecting, and suggests that I get leagal advice. On top of this the area manager for the company has spoken to my manager and I overheard their conversation, where the area manger told her to get rid of me at all costs, I am on a 10 hour a week contract and work 2 days a week, it cant be worth the turn over to recruit and train someone else, can it??? Sam and 22 week +2 baby blue bump

Hi  when i found i was  pregnant with my 3rd child i had just taken on a perminant full time post with the company i had previously been working as bank staff with. I diddnt get on very well with my boss but  basicly i did my umpmost to not let her get one over on me. I worked all through my pregnancy  and granted my prenancy was pretty easy no morning sickness etc i managed to pass my probation  but i did have my say in  it i said that if she had her way i wouldnt lol. The big problem i had came a few weeks before i was about to leave, i got a letter from the company saying i wasnt entittled ro smp as i haddnt been in full time employment with them long enough meaning my bank staff contract and hours i did diddnt count. Well i knew this was totall crap so i put up a fight  and got a friend who is an employment lawyer to write them a very nice letter they back tracked very quickly and i did get it. I still work for the same company but now part time im now pregnant again so lets see how it goes this time. I hope that it all goes well for you do not be intimidated by anyone as a pregnant woman you have the rite to be treated fairly  your company should have a policy  i would make sure they abide by it  and give you a copy.
