people interfering

hello everyone, i dont know if its just me but im getting really annoyed with other people interfering in how i chose to feed my son. i am a first time mum and my son is 4 and half months old. the other day my partner took him out for the day with a friend of his who i dont really get on with. he knows that baby is on baby rice in morning and veg in evening and just milk during the day. the day after he went out i looked through his photos and found pictures of his friend feeding baby ice cream from a cone!!! when i asked the friend why she did it she started laughing saying i thought he would like it, it was funny!!!! i know she did it on purpose and she does this alot. i dont know why my partner doesnt side with me on these things as i am looking after baby full time as he works alot. has any one else had this problem? x
Jessica311 Joined: 07/06/2008 Posts: 50 Re: people interfering 20/05/2009 09:53 my daughter is 4 months,we haven't started weaning her just yet,people have told me to start giving her solids but she is happy on just her milk at the moment.but if someone did feed her something that wasnt in her daily routine and wasn't even a member of the family I would be fuming!!! and ice cream,that isnt very healthy is it? also i think your partner should respect your wishes.xxx
mummy2-1 Joined: 19/03/2009 Posts: 471 Re: people interfering 20/05/2009 10:13 hey hun, i think this "friend" is very disrespectfull (cant spell opps) i would also be fuming if someone gave my lil man ice cream, tell your partner that your not letting him go out with her again if thats how shes going to act, its not her baby ...ive had a few probs with people telling me to do this and that but i just tell them in around about way to s** off xxx
loren221 Joined: 20/05/2009 Posts: 10 Re: people interfering 20/05/2009 12:30 thankyou, i know i was fuming but they acted as though I was the one in the wrong for having a go at her!!!! dnt worry iv said he isnt allowed to take him out cos hes irresponsable. its hard enough learning it all urself without someone inteferring with how ur choosing to do things! Especially when she hasnt a clue about children! thankyou, i knew i wasnt going mad!x

Everyone thinks they know best, and everyone thinks they should tell me how to raise MY daughter, i was waiting to wean my daughter and everyone kept going on and on and on cause they all done it at 4 months, and they made me feel sooo bad about it, it really annoys me cause i want to do things my way and not the way things were done 30 years ago, why cant people understand this... i totally understand about the ice cream as someone nearly done this to me but luckily i was there to stop it, you should have a go at your partner and tell him that you wanted to give your bubba ice cream for the 1st time, and that its your choice and no one elses, and tell the friend to listen to what you do as you went through the labour so you get the choice on how to raise your child x x
