What are the ingredients in Huggies® nappies?

The inside absorbent padding on Huggies® nappies is made of wood cellulose fibre, a fluffy paper-like material, and a super-absorbent material called polyacrylate. Other materials used include polypropylene, polyester, and polyethylene. These are all synthetic materials designed to enhance the fit of the nappy and to help stop leaks. The elastic strands in all Huggies nappies are made of synthetic rubber to provide a snug but gentle fit for baby. In addition, Huggies® nappies feature an all-over breathable outer cover.

Sometimes when I change my son's nappy, there's some jelly stuff on his bottom. What is it, and is it harmful?

The short answer is 'no'. Nappies are subject to a multitude of safety tests. So there shouldn't be a problem. The core of the nappy is made from paper-like fibres and SAM - 'Superior Absorbent Material', capable of absorbing 20 - 30 times its own weight in wee - and this is sandwiched between the outer layer and the soft layer next to the skin. Because this combination has to be 'open' enough to let wee in, material can occasionally come out when it's put under pressure. In your case, it sounds like it's some SAM-gel that has already absorbed urine - but neither the SAM nor the SAM-gel will cause any harm to your baby.

Why do some of your pages load incorrectly?

Much like a baby, the Web is changing quickly. Browsers that were new only a few years ago now can't support many basic functions. Unfortunately, our site doesn't work for every browser on every computer. Currently, we are making every effort to support Internet Explorer versions 6.0 and higher, Firefox 2 and above ( or any other standards compliant browser) and Adobe® Flash 9 or higher. If you have an earlier browser or software, most of the site should work, but there may be some formatting errors. You may not be able to view some of the Flash files either.

For newer versions of your browser, please visit the appropriate page, where you should be able to update it online.

Occasionally, some pages being 'cached' within your browser's history can cause this.

To empty your browser cache (PC):

On Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to 'Tools', then 'Internet Options'. Click 'Delete Files' under 'Temporary Internet Files' and click 'OK'.

On Netscape Navigator, go to 'Edit', then 'Preferences'. Under 'Advanced' in the left hand column, click 'Cache' and then click 'Clear Disk Cache' and 'Clear Memory Cache'.

On Opera, go to 'File', then 'Preferences', then 'History and Cache' in the left hand column. Next to 'Disk Cache', click 'Empty Now'.

To empty your browser cache (Mac):
